What is PuzzBuzz?

PuzzBuzz is a home for mechanical puzzle collectors, designers, makers, and enthusiasts. It's a community-built catalog where you can track what you own, discover what's out there, browse auction history, and connect with other puzzlers.

The world of mechanical puzzles is remarkably diverse, spanning generations of designers and makers, a wide range of materials, and countless places to discover, collect, and purchase them. Information about them lives in old auction archives, private spreadsheets, forum threads, and collectors' heads. PuzzBuzz pulls all of that into one place: a single, searchable catalog that anyone can contribute to, growing richer and more useful as more people use it.

Whether you've been collecting for fifty years or you just bought your first TIC, this is a place to keep track of your puzzles, learn about the ones you don't have yet, and geek out on many topics with the rest of the community.

Key Features

A Massive Catalog

Thousands of puzzles, with attribution to the designers who created them and the makers who built them. Every entry is improvable. Anyone can suggest edits and additions.

Your Personal Collection

Build a public or private collection. Track what you own, what you've solved, how long it took, what you'd rate it, and what's on your wishlist. Add notes, photos, and ratings as you go.

Auction History

A historical record of mechanical puzzle auctions. PuzzBuzz aims to be the complete archive of auctions from Haubrich, Baxter, Puzzle Paradise, and Cubicdissection, so you can see what a puzzle has sold for over the years. You also get an up-to-date estimated value for your entire collection!

Per-Puzzle Discussions

Every puzzle has its own forum. Share solving hints (with spoiler tags), talk craftsmanship, swap repair tips, or just compare first impressions. Posts are organized into focused categories so the conversation stays useful.

Feature Requests

Have an idea to make PuzzBuzz better? Suggest a feature, vote on others' ideas, and help shape what gets built next. The roadmap is driven by the community.

Marketplace & Community

Find puzzles you've been hunting for. Find collectors who want puzzles you have available. Connect directly through PuzzBuzz to trade, sell, or just compare notes.

Community-Driven Data

Spot something wrong? Suggest an edit. Know a designer or maker that's missing? Add them. The catalog grows and improves through everyone's contributions, not just one person's.

Karma (a.k.a. Buzz Bits)

Contributions earn karma, which we call Buzz Bits. Adding puzzles, uploading photos, suggesting edits, rating things. It's a way to recognize the people who put the most into making the catalog great.
