Puzzle box from an edition of six Turing Chests Nicholas Created in 2019-2020. One of the six drawers in the Turing Chest is a stand-alone puzzle box which must be solved to extract the key needed in order to proceed to the next drawer of the chest. Nicholas invented a novel puzzle box mechanism for this drawer when he created the original Turing Chest. He has modified the mechanism for these newer edition chests, making it even more complex and requiring many more moves to solve. He made one extra stand-alone puzzle box from this edition for me. These boxes would qualify as “sequential discovery” puzzle boxes as well.
Materials: Top: highly figured walnut; Sides: Quarter-sawn Paulownia and Jatoba Yosegi patterns: checkerboard diamond (Yellowheart, Redheart, Holly, Campher, and two types of Bubinga) and the classic Seigaiha "waves" pattern (Redheart, Cherry, and thermal-treated Poplar) |
