There is a hidden trick to this checkerboard puzzle. The ten pieces can make a checkered 4x4x4 cube or an 8x8 checkerboard. The solutions to these two puzzles are hidden inside the base, which is a separate puzzle to solve. Pieces are made from Cooktown ironwood and silver ash; box made from Papua New Guinean rosewood and ironwood.
