This puzzle can be viewed as the outer rings of a 3D cubic 4x4x4 slide puzzle. The balls within can be reordered via the intersections of two or more rings of pieces. However, owing to the fact that this particular puzzle is a knockoff of an existing puzzle, the balls are not always colored in a way that makes sense. There is no clear solved state for every arrangement of colors.
