Dark Matter Burr requires 18 moves to remove the first piece from its completed state. While this might be relatively easy for those accustomed to high-level burr puzzles, many people might find it confusing due to the numerous possible pieces that can be moved during the disassembly and reassembly process.
To prevent pieces from moving on their own due to slight force or gravity when the puzzle is completed, we have embedded magnets in the underside of each piece. To ensure the shine of the magnets isn't too noticeable against the dark color of the pieces, we mixed a small amount of sawdust into the epoxy used to secure the magnets. |
