Sixteen 'creatures' keep warm by huddling together within a depression in the ground. The optimum position, warmest and most comfortable, is at the centre of the depression. But how many of the 'creatures' can reach it?
This puzzle won the Bathke Trophy in 2024 at the London Puzzle Party. |

Completely filled the tray with 16 'creatures' leaving no spaces. 'Creatures' may be turned over. Overlapping is not allowed.
Determine how many of the creatures can or unable to cover the warmest position (red triangle in the centre of the tray). |
