9 moves are required to free the steel ball. This design of Andrew’s uses two ball bearings as well as some clever moves. Some of the nine moves needed to free the ball are by the ball bearing itself as well as a second ball bearing that serves as a sort of lock. Reassembly is a challenge too if you didn’t pay attention!
