“The idea of combining my CABRIO sliding box with EUKLID-typical pieces came as a surprise to me. Obviously, I don’t work through ideas systematically, but rather let myself be surprised. Personally, I find these surprising moments very reassuring. A bit of freedom. It turns out I don’t have to force myself to provoke new ideas. I hope I will continue to be surprised by what pops into my mind for a long time to come.

In fact, the thought of a convertible for Euclid sparked my curiosity about the possibilities the sliding box would provide. My EUKLIDs only know cuboids – these simplest convex shapes which cannot interlock, are somehow very difficult to tame. It quickly became clear that there should be six pieces, assembled in a way that an apparently complete cube can be put together. It was quite a challenge to translate these simple parts into a unique sequence of movements. Nevertheless, it was a good time. I learned a lot again and I am confid
